Sportsmanship
Sportsmanship is competing in an event with fairness, respect, and
sense of fellowship with competitors. It is being a good winner and a good loser.

Examples of good sportsmanship include:
1. Playing clean
2. Follow the rules
3. Respect referees, coaches, and opposing team.
4. Shaking hands after a game.
5. Helping an opponent up after they have fallen down.
6. Being modest after you have completed something "awesome" at your event. (I tell my students to act like they have done this before. This is not the first time they have made a goal, touchdown, won a gold medal...... .) You have the right to be excited about your excellence but not at the expense of hurting someone else.
7. Lose graciously. Sometimes you win and sometimes you lose. It is not fun to lose but you have to learn from your mistakes and move on. Be able to give credit to the winning team.
*The rules of sportsmanship should be followed by fans and parents as well.
It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit. Harry S. Truman
